Visual inspiration is found everywhere in life. Common events and sights - such as water flowing over a broken drain field, or textures, lines, and colors in a piece of marble - just simple things sort of click in my brain. There the memory is stored, and eventually is converted into an idea for a painting, or a series of paintings where the idea is further developed and expanded. Each painting in a series takes the ideas to explore it in a different focus. Infinite possibilities. Everything in life consists of layers, or strata - thus my Strata series is constantly evolving, with endless inspiration. Other series seem related, but branch off on other tangents. I'm also interested in energy - as in motion, lines, dance, patterns, contours....
